We are looking for an Accountant to join the Finance team to help support the company’s continued growth with a specific focus in the areas of payroll, benefits administration and accounting.  This is a great opportunity to build on your existing experience and progress your accounting career as part of a multinational organization. You will have the opportunity to work on a range of initiatives and will be involved in various aspects of full cycle accounting.

Key responsibilities:

Commissions, Payroll & Benefits

  •  Work with external payroll and benefits providers to ensure timely, accurate payroll processing and benefits administration
  • Prepare sales commissions reports in accordance with employee contracts
  • Ensure employee absence & vacation leave is accurately captured in the company’s HRIS system
  • Provide appropriate customer service to employees in all aspects of payroll and benefits
  • Ensure compliance with applicable federal/provincial/municipal laws, regulations, rules, standards, and guidelines as it applies to payroll and benefits administration

Accounting

  • Preparation of month end working papers and schedules
  • Assisting with the recording of monthly accruals
  • Reviewing, coding and posting of invoices from vendors
  • Reviewing and posting of employee expenses as captured in Expensify
  • Liaising with suppliers / vendors as necessary
  • Providing other accounting support, as required

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3 years of accounting experience
  • Ability to work under pressure while maintaining perspective and professional demeanor
  • Strong reconciliation experience and attention to detail
  • Highly skilled in Microsoft applications (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Self-motivated with superior organizational skills
  • Able to set priorities and multi-task
  • Enrolled/completed CPA and/or PCP/CPM certifications, preferred
